Lennie Small

Lennie is a migrant worker who has a mental disease that makes him helpless and dependent on George. He behaves like a child by doing weird things such as carrying a dead mouse. Lennie’s weakness of petting soft things involves his in a real tragedy. This character is not dynamic because he remains the same throughout the whole plot. Steinbeck made all the efforts to depict this person from a sympathetic side. The readers cannot blame Lennie for stupid actions just because he is ill. Lennie lives in his childish world where he dreams of living in a peaceful farm and keeping rabbits there.
