These two identical twins are treated by everyone on the island as one entity. The boys have even created them a common name – Samneric. At the beginning, twins are very sociable and easy-going getting on well with practically anybody. They were among the first to ally with Ralph whose rational and civilized manner of preparing for survival on the island was close to the world they knew. They were given a task to maintain the signal fire in case the rescuers are close. When the rivalry with Jack started, the twins didn’t betray Ralph.
