activity (noun, ac-tiv-i-ty, \ ækˈtɪvəti \) report (noun, re-port, \ rɪˈpɔːrt \)

Definition: is a documented summary that contains specific details of a salesperson’s activities and performance over a pre-determined period. In a typical organization, such a report has to be directly submitted by each salesperson to his supervisor either on a yearly or quarterly basis. An activity report includes data about a) the total amount of client visits made, b) the number of demonstrations performed, and c) how many new customer accounts were opened. The analysis of such reports allows a company’s management to study the performance level of all sales personnel and determine if any changes are needed.

In a Sentence:

  1. I’ve studied your last activity report, and I’m not happy with your performance. It’s nice that you’ve managed to keep all of your existing clients, but our company can’t grow if you won’t find any new ones.
  2. I haven’t slept this night at all because I was stuck at home finalizing the details of my activity report. With so many visits I make each day, it’s sometimes hard to keep track of all of them.
