It compares the relatively primitive society of medieval Europe to the Renaissance. It describes medieval Europe\'s economy as solely based on agricultural. Of course, this is not very ideal as if your economy is completely based on a single trade; there\'s a lot of margin for error. In medieval Europe, there were barely any actual businesses. But the renaissance led to a significant increase in trade, manufacturing, and businesses other than farming.
This book includes a good amount of facts, details and gives a lot of info on the effect of the changes made during the Renaissance. For the writer of this book, it would be better if he talked more about the political structure of Renaissance Italy and politics at the time, for example, the abolition of feudalism; it had a great impact on both people’s lives and the economy.

It goes into a lot more detail on Italy’s political structure than many other sources. It talks about the governments of different Italian city-states, how they were ruled, and the effect they had on separate socioeconomic classes. Many Italian states gave little to no regard to those at the bottom of society, as they had no representation in government. They were treated as subjects with little to no rights at all.
This article is pretty long, and although only part of it is about renaissance Italy, it still contains a lot of information of not only renaissance Italy’s economy, but also politics at the time, which is something some other sources lack. Although this article extensively covers the details of the changes in economic and political practices, the author doesn\'t really talk about why these ideas and changes were implemented.
