This quote belongs to Gwendolen, she says it to her beloved Jack Worthing in Act 3 Scene 3 of the play “The Importance of Being Earnest” by Oscar Wilde. It seems controversial for the first glance, but these words precisely reflect Gwendolen’s unconditional love, naïveté and even the attempt to flirt a bit. The girl’s feelings are portrayed as pure and sincere and this is perfectly shown in Wilde’s brilliant manner.
