Alice is a teacher at the college for retarded adults. She works with people like Charlie helping them to learn the basics. When she finds out about the experiment, she encourages Gordon because he is eager to become clever. After the experiment, Alice finds lots of interest in the man’s changes, especially the emotional side. The teacher and Charlie spend lots of time together and they even have loving relationships for some period of time. She cares about him even when he is not intelligent. It shows that her feelings of compassion are genuine and truthful if comparing the attitude of other people to Gordon.
