Andrew Ramsay is the oldest son of eight children of Ramsay family. He is very knowledgeable and competent person. Andrew makes efforts to build a successful career of a mathematician. He had good relations with Paul Rayley and Minta Doyle. He joined them when they were walking on the beach. His fate was rather tragic. He died fighting as a soldier in a World War I when a shell exploded in France. He was a promising young man having many perspectives. However, the World War I made its corrections. Andrew was the most intelligent. Mr. Carmichael was very fond of him.
