He is a humble and conscientious personal servant of Romeo. He takes the rope ladder to the nurse so that she gets to Juliet's room. When a servant gets to know about the death of a young and adored girl of his master, he hurries to report to him about it. It is he who accompanies his master in the tomb to the girl. The master orders him to go, but he fears for him and decides to hide and follow him. Then Friar Lawrence comes and the servant directly states all but does not return with him to the tomb.
