Bernard is also a representative of the world in which the wealthy American employees live, as Willy and his sons do not communicate with people above the middle class. He is Charley’s son. They have become wealthy, as they found out the secret of a successful American dream. He has a reasonable attitude to life, serious thinking, mature calculation, choice of profession, which will bring prosperity, reliable soil underfoot. His life is without mirages, illusions, and disharmony. Bernard is not a person at all; he is dressed in good-looking American double-breasted angel. He stores his wings in the bank and receives interest on mortgages.
