Burt Selden is involved in the experiment with the mouse Algernon and the man Charlie. Burt is writing his thesis which explains why he is so interested in the process. For him, the experiment is just a scientific breakthrough and not the crucial intrusion into one’s life. Burt is working with both Strauss and Nemur. He analyzes the improvements which happen with the mouse and Gordon to understand the progress of the medical experiment. Also, he introduces Gordon to other students in the college for retired adults because teaching the person is a significant part for the progress.
