Charlie Gordon is the protagonist of the story. He presents everything in the form of a dairy. Charlie is 32 years old and he has a mental disorder which makes him act and think like a 10-year-old boy. He has a dream to become smart and understand everything. When doctors decide to conduct an experimental surgery, Charlie feels happy. The experiment is successful and the protagonist’s brain develops very quickly. However, with these changes Charlie learns not only good things but lots of bad situations, problems, negative features of character. He is devastated and doesn’t want to be “clever” anymore. His mental development returns to the primary state of the child at the end.
