Doctor Daneeka, Yossarian’s friend, is a physician of the squadron. He is the one who explains the point of the Catch-22 to Yossarian. He is afraid of flights, so Yossarian helps him to fake the length of the flight hours. Due to that, Doc Daneeka is considered dead, since he was on the list of persons on the crashed airplane. His wife gets a profit of his fake death and doesn’t want to prove that Doc Daneeka is alive. The good thing about him is the way he is trying to perform his duty. Doc risks his life to take care of the wounded soldiers.
