Dolly is a nice-looking, friendly, pretty, and sweet woman. She treats everyone with respect and sympathy. Darya is the one who doesn’t scorn Anna when everyone finds out about Karenina’s love affair with Vronsky. Readers feel compassionate to Dolly especially when she finds out about her husband’s betrayal. It is how the whole book starts.
