Gilgamesh

This character is the main one in the story. He is the protagonist there. He plays a role of the King of Uruk. His responsibility was to build the walls around the city to make people feel safe. He is very responsible for everything he does and tries to do everything for the benefit and interests of people.

As there are a lot of translations of the story he has a little bit different descriptions. According to the first, he is the implementation of the man and God. His mother was a beautiful goddess Ninsun, and his father was a very handsome god Lugalbanda, who was the king of Uruk before Gilgamesh. 

Our hero suffers only from immoderation. He is considered to be the greatest of all men and both his virtues and his flaws are outsized. He is the most furious and skillful warrior, and at the same time, he is the most ambitious builder. As you can understand, if the boss is a warrior it is very hard to have rest even for a minute. So, before Gilgamesh’s near equal, Enkidu, comes, he really gets the warriors exhausted with endless battles, forced labor, and arbitrary exercises of power. Before friendship with Enkidu, he used to live the way he wants. If he wants a woman, he gets her. No matter if it was a wife of some warrior or the bride at her first wedding night. He raped all of them thinking that it was normal, and everything is for him.

Fortunately, Enkidu focuses on him, and, what is more, important calms him down. 

Suddenly, when Enkidu dies, he feels like he is out of his depth, and that his death is nearer day by day. After that, accidentally, he changed his mind and understood that glory, wealth, and power, are not the main things. It is something which is gained by way of eternal, but not things that are the main aim. After that, he founds harmony and appears as much better king.
