Quimbo

Well, not much is known about the Quimbo. Perhaps, it’s because this character is static and doesn’t make any big difference in human behavior with and without him. Still, he is the great example of Tom’s belief in the Lord. Quimbo is one of the Legree's overseers, who have been trained to brutalize their fellow slaves. When he and his co-workers beat Tom, and he forgives them, they are converted to Christianity. Strange, but true – the power of love and forgiveness is very strong which is visible with their changing behavior.
