Puck, or Robin Goodfellow, simultaneously performs two roles. On the one hand, we face a military man, as Lieutenant of Oberon. But on the other hand, it is a powerful spirit that travels around the world and takes on the appearance of a person. He can be perceived as an elf because he also likes to joke about mere mortals. But his character does not differ maliciously. Puck reminds readers of the existence of a magic world, where not all wizards are kind and generous. If Oberon fights for the happiness of people, then Puck shows indifference to their suffering. Sometimes, it seems that he deliberately brings a particle of evil into human relationships. It is worth remembering the episode with the mad love between Demetrius and Lysander, which ended well only thanks to Oberon's request. Puck serves as a kind of reminder of the presence of two sides of the medal, light and dark ones, so we should not take life one-dimensionally.
