Rodrigo is one of Desdemona's obsessive and jealous suitors. He is young, rich and stupid. He is certain that with his wealth he can get everything he wants. He wants to marry Desdemona and believes that if he yields up all his deep pocket to the fiend Iago, he will help him get the girl. Disappointed once again, when Othello and Desdemona got married and went to Cyprus, he consents to collusion with Iago. The villain rebukes a fool, enraged and frustrated to kill Cassio, since he, too, is Desdemona’s fiancé and his rival.
