Santiago

Santiago is an old man who is an avid fisherman. He has lost his young energy, and now he has spent eighty-four days without any catch. Surrounding people begin despising him, but there is one boy Manolin who encourages Santiago to go fishing. The old man decides to make the final haul on a huge marlin. He spends three days at sea struggling with a huge fish. Santiago’s thoughts are philosophical, and his inner strengths motivate him no to give up. Finally, he returns home with a huge skeleton of fish because sharks ate it during the catch. It is a big victory for Santiago, although he lost marlin.
