Everybody knows her as a goddess of womanly arts and wisdom. Athena is a daughter of Zeus. She is considered as Odysseus' most powerful ally. Athena plays a significant role for Telemachus and Odysseus as she protects them during battles and journeys. Nevertheless, she always prepares different challenges for heroes. She is a member of the council of Mount Olympus where she invokes gods to save the lives of people during a war. So, we can state that Athena is an integral part of the poem as she prevents death and presents a second chance.
