According to the plot, he was the first Douglass’ master. There is no precise description of the appearance of this character. All that we know is that he was the clerk and superintendent of Colonel Lloyd's farm. Captain Anthony is not considered as a kind and warm-hearted person as he did not sympathize with slaves; moreover, he treats them brutally. He doesn’t occupy the central place in the novel. Nevertheless, he interacted with most of the personages. As it turned out, this character shaped slaves’ future. Speaking about his family, we should mention that Captain had two sons and a daughter.
