The reader knows her as a daughter of Captain Anthony. The author compares her with an angel that protects people and gives a shelter for everybody. After her father’s death, Lucretia inherited his estate. The woman had a daughter Amanda with whom Douglass became good friends. Mrs. Auld is considered as a protagonist as her central woman role is an integral part of the main climax of the novel. It is interesting to keep tracks of her life, in particular how she treated her baby girl. Her husband Captain Thomas Auld loved Lucretia and presented her keep and rich life.
