Moira

Gilead is the society where only male-female relationships are valued, but Moira has different principles. She is a lesbian, and cannot bear living in Gilead. Moira makes several attempts to escape, but they were unsuccessful. The ways she tries to run away are eye-catching. She takes off her clothes and puts on a costume of an Aunt. It is how she shows her inner desire to rebel against the society. Her identity is ignored in Gilead, and Moira can't bear this.

In the end, the character admits her pitiful destiny because she is left working as a prostitute. She is devastated, and she doesn't have the energy to be rebellious anymore. She accepts her role as a victim, as all the other women in Gilead do.
