Sethe

Sethe can be easily called one of the main characters of the story. She is the one who gave the life to Beloved and put the end for this life. She is a slave, who is abused by the white people and is hiding from them. At the first time, Sethe might seem to be a cruel mother without feeling. However, if one tries to understand her, one will see the real situation. Sethe has lived through lots of difficulties and hard moments, and she doesn’t want her children the same fate. She doesn’t see the alternative. She is convinced that the love of the mother is not about feelings. It’s about actions.
