John has an exciting role in the story. He is not a dynamic one, but, he is described as a total opposite to the Rochester. He is cold, reserved and tries to control everything. When Jane appears in his house, he falls in love with her. Being a bit weird in showing his feelings he, unfortunately, didn’t have a chance to succeed in romance to Jane. She knows that true love can’t be this and escape from John to Rochester.
