The Intended is a symbol of the typical European who is struggling to believe in the majesty of such men like Kurtz and close the eyes on the dark sides of their characters omitting hidden places everyone don’t want to talk about. The Intended is a blind soul who believes Marlow’s life and has a distorted vision about European’s mission in Africa. Marlow saw her obsession with the despot and decided it would be better to hide the truth from the girl.
