The Chorus does not play any significant role in the "Antigone"; chorus songs, but does not detach from the course of action, and are more or less adjacent to the situations of the drama. Especially interesting is the first stasim, in which the strength and ingenuity of the human mind, conquering nature and organizing social life are glorified. The chorus concludes with a warning: the power of reason attracts a man to both good and evil; therefore it is necessary to adhere to traditional ethics. This song is an author's commentary on the tragedy, explaining the poet's position in the matter of the collision of "divine" and human law.
