This personage is confident that he can become better lord and guideline of society. An author does not give the precise description of his appearance. The reader can be confused with the prototype of Emmanuel Goldstein. His role in the novel starts to be significant only at the end of the last scene. Moreover, his antisocial way of life created the image of monster. So, it is almost impossible to realize his importance for the whole novel.
