Humbert is the main male character of the novel. He is the protagonist. Humbert is highly intelligent and educated. This middle-aged man, who is obsessed with the psychology, especially mental diseases. He has a smart and good-looking appearance and is obsessed with himself. Humbert loves Lolita, however, likes to be in the center of other women’s attention. His has melted blood, as his father has a Swiss, French and Austrian origin. The negative sides of this character are that he resembles a mad person and continuously talks about fantastic things. Humbert suffers from insomnia and paranoia. He is the narrator telling the story in the novel.
