The only true friend of Prometeus, International 4-8818 is an average obedient citizen of the City. Not knowing that life can be different, he follows all the rules but deep inside seeks to realize his own value. Always cheerful and vivacious, he demonstrates the positive attitude towards life even when ordered to become a street sweeper. This is where he meets with Equality 7-2521 and falls under his charms. Fascinated by the curious nature of his friend, he considers him to be a prophet of something completely different then collectivism. Despite his humbleness and respect for laws, International 4-8818 remains a loyal friend and keeps the experiments of his friend in secret. He would even join him if not the fear of punishment for breaking the rules.
