Newt

Newt, who is named after Isaak Newton, is a Glader who looks much younger than many other Gladers. Being placed with the Group A, he is separated from his sister. He is Alby's Second-in-command and, for some time, Newt befriends Minho and Alby.

He is rather tall and well-built boy, with blonde hair. He also has also either English or Scottish "odd accent."  He is truly committed to his mission and does everything possible just to help his friends. Talking about his relationships with Teresa and Thomas, when New meets them he is separated from them for some time. However, thanks to Thomas, Newt manages to visit Lizzy before the Maze Trials begins. When the Mazes are running, Newt finds that Thomas and Teresa are not entering the Maze, and, due to this fact, he feels betrayed. After the year from the beginning of the Trials has passed, Newt is in despair as he thinks endlessly about all the deaths he failed to prevent. He is actually tired, and when he realizes that there is no way out of the Maze at all, he tries suicides. Fortunately, the hero survives, and, after this, his injured leg gives him a limp till the end of his life.
