Narrator/Scout: It was early morning I was barley awake as I slipped my head into Jems room. He and Atticus were sound asleep. “The Grey Ghost” was lying on the ground by Atticus’s chair wide open. I walked to the kitchen where Cal was placing the kettle on the stove for coffee. Cal: well Jean Louise finch what are you doing up at this hour young lady. Scout: I didn’t sleep well. I had a long night

Cal: well I can see that! The bags under your eyes are very big. Come on out to the porch and explain to me what was keeping you up last night. Narrator/Scout: as I explained to cal what all happened that night she listened with her full attention. And when I had told cal everything I couldn’t help to just hug her. Cal: it’s all right scout. I’m just happy yall are okay. I would have been terrified. Narrator/scout: cal and I heard a door close inside the house so we went in to check on it. Jems door had been closed and we saw Atticus in the kitchen. Scout: morning Atticus!

Atticus: well good morning scout, calpurnia. What were yall doing out on the porch this morning? Narrator/scout: I was going to tell Atticus I told cal about Boo but cal interrupted me before I could say one word. Cal: we were just talking about scouts play. And what all happened. narrator/scout: Atticus nodded and turned and poured him some coffee when we heard Jem. Jem: Atticus, Atticus where are you where’s scout is scout okay I I tried to stop him but I couldn’t he was to strong. Where’s scout? Scout: here I am Jem I’m okay. I hugged Jem

Atticus: be careful of his arm okay scout?
Narrator/scout: Atticus called to cal telling her to call dr. Reynolds Atticus: cal would you call dr. Reynolds so he can put a permanent cast on
Jem? Cal: yes sir
Narrator/scout: Jem and I were alone now after he got his cast and I told Jem everything that happened that night. Jem: so you got to see boo and he was right here in my bedroom and I didn’t even get to see him? Scout: yeah sorry Jem.

Jem: yeah whatever
Scout/Narrator: the whole day people came to our house giving us so many treats and different types of food always felt that taking the food from our neighbors and telling them lies about what actually happened but I knew Atticus wanted us to keep it a secret. We ended up with so much food we didn’t know what to do with it all. Narrator/scout: I didn’t talk to Jem till later that day. I felt like something was missing and I needed to get closure with boo. So I went to Jems room (KNOCK) Jem, may I come in?

Jem: yes you can
Scout: Jem I feel like we owe boo because he gave us the medal the coins the soap dolls and especially he saved our lives. Jem: yeah I guess so. Maybe we should give him some of the treats we got. Scout: okay let’s go now!

Jem: no let’s go tomorrow afternoon!

Scout: Jem we don’t want everyone to know that boo saved us we have to go when no one is around so he doesn’t get all the attention. Jem: okay fine!
Narrator/scout: Jem and I gathered food and ran to the Radley house. Jem: scout I’m scared to go up there

Scout: trust me nothing to worry about boo is really nice I met him I experienced finally meeting him and I know how sweet he is, he wouldn’t hurt us. (Ethos) Jem: okay scout I believe you. Where should we put the food? Scout: we will put them under the swing in the corner.

Narrator/scout: You ready to go home Jem? We held hands and walked together we saw Atticus walking home. We ran to him hugging him with all our strength. Jem: hey Atticus how was your day?

Atticus: It was fine but why are you kids out this late evening? Scout: we were just playing around. We are glad you are home.

Atticus: okay let go inside and see what Cal is making us for supper.

Narrator/scout: Jem and I hid the food and we never saw or heard anything from boo again except for a thank you on the old tree with a -A.R. Written underneath. Jem and I still think “where would be if boo haven’t been there that night what would have actually happened? We probably would have been dead. What if boo had not even come in to our lives would all of this even had happened?” (Logos) Narrator/scout: we to this day are grateful.
